8月3日、伊藤文化庁長官はリトアニア共和国オーレリウス・ジーカス駐日大使の表敬訪問を受けました。

伊藤長官は、ジーカス大使の訪問を歓迎するとともに、3月に国立西洋美術館で開催されたチュルリョーニス展の成功につながった協力に感謝を表明し、日本とリトアニア両国の文化交流がさらに深まることへの期待を述べました。

ジーカス大使は、今年が日・リトアニア外交関係樹立35周年という節目の年であり、展覧会の開催などを通してリトアニアの文化を日本に紹介する交流機会が広がることを期待されるとともに、リトアニアにおける日本文化の関心の高さを示されました。

Courtesy Call on Commissioner Ito by H.E. Mr. Aurelijus Zykas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Japan (August 3, 2026)

On August 3, Commissioner for Cultural Affairs Ito received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Aurelijus Zykas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Japan.
Commissioner Ito welcomed Ambassador Zykas and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation that contributed to the success of the Čiurlionis Exhibition held at the National Museum of Western Art in March. He also expressed his hope that cultural exchanges between Japan and Lithuania would continue to deepen.
Ambassador Zykas noted that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Lithuania. He expressed his hope that opportunities to introduce Lithuanian culture to Japan would continue to expand through initiatives such as exhibitions and other cultural events. He also highlighted the strong interest in Japanese culture among the people of Lithuania.
