10月5日、伊藤文化庁長官は、インドネシア共和国ジョグジャカルタ特別州のスリ・スルタン・ハメンク・ブオノ10世知事の表敬訪問を受けました。伊藤長官は、知事一行の来訪を歓迎するとともに、日本とインドネシアの文化交流や人材交流の重要性に触れ、文化分野における協力関係の更なる発展への期待を述べました。

これに対し知事は、学生交流や高等教育機関同士の連携に加え、木造建築や歴史的建造物の保存・修復技術などに関する知識・技術交流を深めたいとの考えを示しました。また、ジョグジャカルタにおける日本文化センター設立への関心を表明しました。

これを受け伊藤長官は、文化財の保存・修復や文化コンテンツの発信などの分野において、文化庁として協力できる可能性に言及しました。双方は、人材育成を含む文化交流の重要性を確認し、今後の協力関係の一層の発展への期待を共有しました。

On October 5, Commissioner Ito of the Agency for Cultural Affairs received a courtesy call from H.H. Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia.

Commissioner Ito welcomed the Governor and his delegation and underscored the importance of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and Indonesia. He also expressed his hope for the further development of cooperation in the cultural field.

In response, Governor Hamengku Buwono X expressed his desire to deepen exchanges in areas such as student mobility, collaboration among higher education institutions, and the sharing of knowledge and expertise related to the preservation and restoration of wooden architecture and historic buildings. He also conveyed his interest in establishing a Japanese Cultural Center in Yogyakarta.

Commissioner Ito noted that the Agency for Cultural Affairs could contribute to initiatives in areas such as the preservation and restoration of cultural properties and the promotion of cultural content. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of cultural exchange, including human resource development, and shared their hope for further strengthening cooperation in the future.
